Clothing is filmed in motion: you judge a cut by walking, a fabric by how it falls. A still frame says little about a garment.

What to pin down in the brief

  1. Sizing and body type

If you expect the result on a particular body type, write it down. That is an objective criterion, so it can be held to, unlike “it should hang well”.

  2. The movement you want

Walking, turning, sitting: say which. A fluid fabric and a heavy knit do not show themselves the same way.

  3. Setting and season

Indoors, street, evening light: the setting dates the video as much as the garment does. Pin it down if the campaign has a season.

What gets ordered most here

The try-on

The garment worn, in movement. This is what fashion brands order most, because it answers the only question that matters online: how does it hang.

The fabric detail

Seams, cloth, zip, lining. Very short, filmed close, and it is what reassures a buyer who cannot touch.

The full outfit

The garment paired with other pieces, in a setting. Asks more of the creator, and means saying what they may add of their own.

Questions particular to this niche

Can I ask for a particular body type?
Yes, and it is worth doing if the result depends on it. That is an objective criterion, so it can be held to, unlike “it should hang well”. The directory does not filter on it: the brief carries it.
Should I send the exact size?
Send the size the creator wears, not yours. A badly fitting garment shows far more on video than in a photo, and it is a revision you have caused yourself.
Indoors or outdoors?
Outdoors gives kinder light but less controlled sound, and it depends on the weather. If the date matters, ask for indoors.
