Sports & outdoors UGC creators

Sport is filmed outside, in motion, often alone. Shooting is more constrained here than anywhere else: weather, light, terrain.

What to pin down in the brief

  1. Terrain and weather

Gym, road, trail, coast: the place changes both the shoot and who is available. Say what is required and what is merely preferred.

  2. The effort on camera

A technical demonstration and real exertion are neither the same framing nor the same sound. A creator out of breath is audible, and sometimes that is the point.

  3. Safety and equipment

Helmet, protection, supervision: if your brand requires something on camera, write it down. A video that misses this cannot be rescued in the edit.

What gets ordered most here

The product in motion

Worn or used during the effort, not laid out. The only format that proves a piece of kit holds up, and what the sector orders most.

The field test

A real session, filmed in conditions. Longer, more weather-dependent, and far more credible than an indoor demonstration.

The verdict after use

The creator talks about the product once they have used it. Means more time between shipping and delivery: allow for it in the brief.

Questions particular to this niche

Who is responsible if the creator gets hurt?
The creator shoots under their own responsibility and chooses what they accept. Never require a risky practice in a brief: write down the effort expected and let them decline.
What if the weather does not hold?
That is the constraint particular to this sector. Give a deadline with room in it, or accept an indoor fallback, and say which of the two you prefer.
Can I ask for visible safety gear?
Yes, and it is often necessary. Spell it out: a missing helmet in a cycling video gets noticed, and it rebounds on the brand before it rebounds on the creator.
